Our Story

Windmill Sprinkler & Hardware opened its first location on Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1954. Founded by William “Bill” Meredith and his wife Patricia, the business started with a focus on well drilling and irrigation installation. As customer needs grew, so did the store—quickly expanding into a full-service hardware store offering pipes, fittings, tools, and helpful, no-nonsense advice.

That spirit of helping people help themselves became the foundation of the business. Bill was known not just for his skill and work ethic, but for taking the time to talk with customers, offer encouragement, and share the kind of practical knowledge that made a real difference.

In 1980, Windmill Sprinkler & Hardware opened a second location in Delray Beach to meet the growing needs of local nurseries, landscapers, and homeowners. The Delray store quickly became the largest of the three and continues to serve a wide range of customers with a broad selection of products and knowledgeable service.

The company continued to grow, and in 2008, Windmill Sprinkler & Hardware opened its third location in LaBelle. Designed to support both residential customers and the area’s agricultural community, the store carries a full range of hardware and irrigation supplies. Like the other locations, it offers knowledgeable service and customized solutions to help meet the unique needs of the community.

Today, Windmill Sprinkler & Hardware remains a family-owned and operated business, now into its fourth generation. Across all three stores, the goal is the same as it’s always been: to provide the right parts, reliable knowledge, and real support for anyone tackling a project—big or small.

We’re proud to continue what Bill and Pat started, and we’re here when you need us.
